Have you ever wondered what it would be like to compete on the World Cup mountain bike racing circuit? Now you can stop wondering and meet top International mountain bikers in person, at an exclusive session with the Trek Factory Racing XC athletes!
That’s right: you can join Emily Batty, Anton Cooper, Sergio Mantecón and Evie Richards for #MyTrekSundowners at Meerendal Wine Estate on 12 March 2018, just days after they compete in the first leg of the 2018 UCI MTB World Cup in Stellenbosch! Can you think of a better way to get motivated on your own MTB journey?
Inspiring Youth to Cycle: The 29-year-old Canadian Emily Batty believes life is better on a bicycle, and has made it her mission to encourage as many kids as possible to pursue cycling. The Emily Batty Project is highly successful in achieving this goal. Emily’s many accolades include a bronze at the 2016 World Championships, fourth place at the Rio Olympics and a gold medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games. She is currently preparing to compete for Team Canada in the Australian Commonwealth Games later this year.
Dreaming Big, Riding Large! For New Zealand Trek team member Anton Cooper, life’s all about pursuing your goals relentlessly. His dream of becoming a professional cross country mountain biker became reality in 2012 when he joined the Trek Factory Racing team, and won the Junior World Championships, a World Championship win in the U-23 category, and a third-place finish in the 2017 World Cup in Germany.
No Challenge too Big: The busiest man in mountain biking, you can find Sergio at the front of nearly every race in his native Spain, as well as on the World Cup circuit. Sergio provides a solid and positive base for the entire team with a confident outlook that doesn’t waver for any challenge. A mainstay on podiums throughout his career, Sergio’s accomplishments include numerous World Cup top-10s and copious other wins.
Coming of age in South Africa: Evie Richards joined the Trek Factory Racing program full-time in 2018 to compete in the U-23 category. Already an U-23 World Cup winner aboard she has just been crowned the U-23 Women’s Cyclo-cross World Champion … this is the first time ever that this title has been won by the same woman, twice!
