Team Silverback-Volvo riders, Yolande De Villers & Shaun-Nick Bester dominated their categories and both eased into victory including the overall win.

De Villers, Queen of the Mountain rode to a comfortable victory on all her stages and continued to lead the women’s general classification, “Pe2Plett was a wonderful event & winning the solo women’s category was fantastic on my Silverback Sesta,’ says De Villers. Riders could not ask for a more beautiful start venue for the 6th Fedgroup PEPLETT, South Africa.

DAY 1: 96KM

Day 1 was tough event, tackling the singletrack, 96km of  breathtaking climbs and magnificent coastal views. Bester adds, “We came into the race with the goal to win the overall GC classification.” The duo’s plan work out as they have strategized. With some hectic mechanicals, the two stayed focus and still managed to win Stage 1.

DAY 2: 92KM

The second day saw some wet conditions, “our bikes took a lot of hammering and most everybody had to replace brake pads as well as cables after 97km of grinding in the mud,” says Yolande.

Andrew Hill, who took the overall victory and Shaun-Nick rode away from the bunch before the 1st water point, “I did not open the gap too big as I knew that Declan could attack over the gap & we managed to hold off Ian and Brandon,” explains Shaun-Nick.

De Villers crossed the line as 1st solo lady as well as Queen of the Mountain again.

DAY 3: 85KM

The day started with a many sandy section along the beautiful coastline followed by a fast urban section through a golf estate. By no surprise Yolande crossed the finish line as 1st solo lady. The Mad Mac p/b häzz-Silverback Bikes did not have a good day but they increased their overall lead time. Regardless of Declan being dehydrated he proved again to why they call him homey badger and they managed to finish in 1st place again.
