The Rola Motor Group does not only share a passion for cars, but also for cycling and lifestyle. As a leading motor group based in the Western Cape, Rola embraces mobility and endorses a healthy lifestyle.
Advocating these values have become a community drive for the Rola group and therefore the decision to enter into a partnership with the Qhubeka community initiative in 2019, came quite naturally.
The aim is to provide bicycles to school communities, over a 3-year period in order to improve mobility. For every bicycle that Rola donates, Qhubeka will donate another. This will enable the Rola Motor Group to jointly give away 700 bicycles over a 3-year period.
The Rola Motor Group is excited about the Absa Cape Epic 2019, for good reason!
“As a proud partner of the Qhubeka initiative, we will be donating 80 bicycles over 8 days, coinciding with the Absa Cape Epic this year.”
Rola’s first 50 bicycles will be delivered to the Greenberg Secondary School in Grabouw and a second delivery of 30 bicycles will be in conjunction with Grabouw Beautiful Organization. Qhubeka will thus also donate 80 bicycles, which means 160 bicycles will be made available to the communities in the Grabouw area.
The 16th edition of the Absa Cape Epic is taking place from 17 to 24 March 2019. This 8-day event will take riders through the Western Cape and this year also through the scenic Helderberg basin, where many of Rola’s dealerships are situated.
Rola Motor Group CEO, Marius Claassen will take on this gruelling race with team mate Jampie Vlok. They will race a distance of around 700km and will be climbing a total of 15 000m. All this through iconic fynbos valleys, ravines, indigenous forests, vineyards, majestic mountains and spectacular coastlines.
The ladies category will be full of excitement for Rola Motor Group as Rola Volkswagen Brand Ambassador and Kross Racing Team rider, Ariane Lüthi will team up with 2 x Olympic silver medallist, Maja Wloszczowska for the Absa Cape Epic this year.
Mariske Strauss from Team Silverback Fairtree will also be taking part in a battle for the 2019 Absa Cape Epic title, together with Swedish rider, Jennie Stenerhag. Mariske has a close affiliation with Volvo and Silverback, which shows her shared passion for motorcars, cycling and lifestyle.
The Rola Motor Group is excited to support and watch close competitive cycling, promoting the healthy active lifestyle and most importantly synergising with Qhubeka by giving back to communities in aim to provide education through mobility. Bicycles change lives and passion moves us beyond ourselves, beyond our shortcomings, and beyond our failures.
