Petrichor Adventures started as an adventure dream, as both of the start-up owners, Rohan Germishuys and Rudolf Botha, love the outdoors and love living life.

“We wanted to create new event opportunities and adventures with a good physical challenge, something unique or special, great value for money, and superior customer experiences – adding to life,” says Germishuys. In September 2018 Fleur van Eeden joined the team and became a co-owner in January 2019.

They started planning their first event ‘Around the Pot – Overberg 100Miler’ in February 2017. This is a 100Mile gravel bike race that starts and finishes in Swellendam, taking riders through the rolling hills and blooming Canola fields of the Overberg region.

The special feature of this event is the Malgas ferry where the riders cross the Breede River in a 45min neutral zone. The fourth edition of Around The Pot will happen on 18 July 2020.

Their next adventure event was ‘Trek2Teebus 3day Stage Race’, that was hosted for the first time in April 2018 in Steynsburg in the Eastern Cape. This exclusive event is hosted on a private Karoo farm, with a single race village and clover-leaf routes.

Riders are spoilt with local Karoo Cuisine and Luxury Tented Accommodation. This race features the Orange-Fish Tunnel that surfaces near Teebus koppie. The third Trek2Teebus will happen on 1-3 May 2020.

Realising their vision and need, they have procured 100 Luxury Canvas dome tent sets that include beds, mattresses. They use these tent sets at their own races, but also rent them out to other events organizers and/or event venues.
