NTT Pro Cycling will be racing the Tour for All exhibition series, a 5-stage event for professional teams taking place on the Zwift virtual cycling platform, from 4-8 May.
Zwift, cycling’s most popular indoor virtual training platform, have organised the Tour for All (TFA) pro series (4-8 May) which will supplement their Tour for All ride series (4-30 May) aimed at the general public. That’s all in support of Doctors Without Borders/Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF).
Zwift have kicked off the TFA with a $125,000 donation to MSF and will match that donation if 250 000 “Zwifters” ride at least one of the 5 stages between the 4th and 30th of May.
NTT Pro Cycling is delighted to be part of such a worthy initiative and excited for some tough virtual racing at next week’s TFA pro series races.
The 5 stages range between 35km – 75km and will feature approximately 400m – 1700m elevation. 5 riders per team will start the TFA stages and results will be points based and determined by the team’s performance and results on each stage.
A pro rider may not do more than 2 of the 5 stages and so it will require a complete team effort over the 5 stages to come out victorious. NTT Pro Cycling has selected a squad of 20 riders to take on the TFA pro series stages.
NTT Pro Cycling’s Tour for All squad – Ryan Gibbons, Stefan de Bod, Jay Thomson, Louis Meintjes, Nicholas Dlamini, Reinardt Janse van Rensburg, Ben O’Connor, Victor Campenaerts, Max Walscheid, Roman Kreuziger, Michael Gogl, Andreas Stokbro, Michael Carbel, Michael Valgren, Rasmus Tiller, Danilo Wyss, Gino Mader, Domenico Pozzovivo, Matteo Sobrero & Carlos Barbero.
The pro series stages will take place between 15:00 – 17:00 daily with an exclusive live broadcast on Eurosport and the Global Cycling Network app.
“The Tour for All is a great initiative by Zwift, providing people with an opportunity to come together in a virtual space and do good. The fact that Zwift have catered for pro riders with the pro series as well, that’s just awesome. With the TFA racing being broadcast, and our in-game avatars & equipment replicating our real-life sponsors, it’s great exposure for the partners who continue to support us in these trying times. Hopefully NTT Pro Cycling’s participation can raise awareness for the cause behind Tour for All and provide good entertainment for all our fans and followers.” – Ryan Gibbons, South African National Road Champion
