Round 3 Throwback

A chilly morning greeted riders to the third leg of the Nissan Trailseeker MTB Series in the Hemel-en-Aarde valley, Hermanus on 6 July 2019. The stunning Sumaridge Wine Estate was the perfect venue for the race, with a picturesque backdrop of the ocean and wine valley below. Gushing winds made the race truly interesting and added to the already tough elevation.

The race attracted 700 entrants from all over South Africa to compete in one of the most scenic destinations. The routes had beautiful single tracks winding through vineyards, jeep tracks and a view from Rotary drive which overlooks the entire Hermanus bay.

Both SA XCM Champions, Arno du Toit and Samantha Sanders were leading throughout the race, kept their lead solid and took the title again – two weeks in a row.
