This year Jakhals MTB Challenge will celebrate its 5th birthday with a few changes for the convenience of the riders. The most significant change will be that the registration and late entries will be handled over two days instead of one day.
Although riders can enter online, local riders can also enter at Sportsmans Warehouse in George. Registration and late entries will take place on Friday, 25 August from 15h30 – 18h00 at Sportsmans Warehouse and on Saturday, 26 August from 06h00 – 07h30 at Arendsrus Country Lodge.
The Jakhals MTB Challenge will start at Arendsrus Country Lodge with the finish-line on the Oval Stock Car track at the George Show Grounds. The race will form part of the George Agricultural Show, and all riders will have a free entry to the show on 26 August 2017, while family and supporters will have to pay a nominal entry fee to enter. While waiting for riders to arrive at the finish-line there will be lots of activities to experience at the George Agricultural Show. The prize giving will be held at 12h30 in the entertainment tent at the show.
Riders will be able to choose between a 22, 42 and a 62km route. The 42 and 62km routes will take riders through the scenic Jonkersberg Plantation and on their way back they will cross a strawberry and blueberry farm. The 22km route is fast and flat and will also cross a strawberry and blueberry farm. There will be prize money for the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd rider male and female on the 62km route, as well as lucky draws and beautiful finishers medals to all. Jakhals MTB Challenge will give you great riding opportunities as well as a fun family day.
