How to Enter the 2021 Absa Cape Epic
Due to the cancellation of the 2020 race, we have modified our normal entry process to give priority to our 2020 riders.
After 2020 teams have confirmed their participation, additional public entries (if available) will open on 19 May at 15:00 (GMT+2) and will be sold on a first come first served basis. There will not be a lottery for the 2021 Absa Cape Epic.
A form will appear below and the steps to secure your entry are as follows:
Step 1: Sign into your online profile or create a profile if you don’t already have one.
Step 2: A form will appear below where you will fill in your full name, ID or passport number and email address. Once you have registered for your entry, it will only be confirmed once payment has been made, and can be paid via credit card or electronic funds transfer (proof of payment within 48 hours secures the entry).
2021 Waiting List
Guarantee Your Participation in a Future Absa Cape Epic!
As of 12 May 2020, entries into the 2021 Absa Cape Epic are limited to 499 teams. As entries become available or if COVID-19 restrictions are lifted to allow more than 499 teams, we will invite teams off the waiting list.
“We realise that there will be many riders who had intended to participate in 2021 but who might not secure an entry in the initial phase, and hence we have introduced a revised waiting list limited to 200 spots along with an entry fee deposit that will be applied to your entry.”
“As soon as the public entries sell out, we will open a waiting list on this page that offers the following:”
Entry fee deposit on 2021/2022 Absa Cape Epic of ZAR14 000 / USD1 000. This must be paid within 24 hours of registering for the waiting list.
If you are invited before 1 November 2020, 125% of your entry fee deposit (ZAR17 500 / USD1 250) will be deducted from the 2021 standard entry fee.
If you are invited after 1 November 2020, you will have the choice to either:
- Take up the 2021 entry as per point 2 above, but with 150% of the entry fee deposit (ZAR21 000 / USD1 500) deducted from the 2021 standard entry fee.
- Take up a guaranteed entry into 2022, with 100% of your entry fee deposit (ZAR14 000 / USD1 000) deducted from the 2022 standard entry fee.
