Fedhealth XTERRA set to take Grabouw by storm

Proudly the largest XTERRA in the world, the Fedhealth XTERRA South African Championship will take place in Grabouw the weekend of Friday, 23 – Sunday, 25 February 2018.

The Fedhealth XTERRA Grabouw signifies the start of the 2018 XTERRA World Tour, and features the Fedhealth XTERRA Kids events on the Friday, followed by the XTERRA Trail Run and Fedhealth XTERRA Full on the Saturday, and the Fedhealth XTERRA Lite on the Sunday.

The XTERRA World Tour gives athletes around the world a chance to race in off-road triathlons and trail runs in some of the most diverse, spectacular, and challenging natural environments on the planet – from tropical jungles to snow-covered alps. 000Pro athletes compete for pro prize monies, while amateurs race for national titles and coveted slots to the World Championship in Maui, Hawaii.

Fedhealth XTERRA Kids

On 23 February 2018 excited junior XTERRA Warriors gather at the water’s edge of the picturesque Eikenhof Dam ready to partake in the action-packed Fedhealth XTERRA Kids Race in Grabouw. The ideal introduction to the sport of XTERRA, the Fedhealth XTERRA Kids Race is hosted at a beautiful venue that encourages family support.

Jadon Hunter (6-8 years) really enjoyed the XTERRA Kids Race in 2017. “I enjoyed the bike leg the most,” says Hunter. “I like riding my bike. I entered the XTERRA because it’s fun.”

According to Angeliq Coetzer (9-11 years) the 2017 XTERRA Kids Race was awesome. “I enjoyed all three disciplines: the swim, the mountain bike and the trail run. I entered because taking part would be an achievement for me and I got a medal.”

Christiaan Franken (12-15 years) made his XTERRA debut in 2017. “I really enjoyed it. The mountain bike discipline was my favourite. I’ll definitely be back in 2018.”
