Don’t miss out on the family Rotary Wildekrans MTB Adventure

Mountain bike enthusiasts will be thrilled to hear that preparations for the second Wildekrans Rotary Mountain Bike Adventure are well under way and that participants can expect an even bigger and better ride than last year. The event, staged as part of the popular annual Kalfiefees and seen as more of a fun ride as opposed to a competitive one, will take place on Saturday, 12 August 2017.

Isipani Construction, building contractors and property developers from Paarl, and also the company in charge of the construction of the new Whale Coast Mall that will be opening its doors in November this year is the main sponsor for the second consecutive year.

Passionate and seasoned mountain biker Braam Gericke from Wildekrans Wine Estate who is in charge of the construction of the track promises that this year will see a significant change. “We learnt a few lessons last year and after spending some time at the drawing board we have come up with a course that we know participants will find not only easier, but also more entertaining,” Gericke quipped.

There will be three trails of 50, 30 and 10km respectively, meandering through some of the estate’s vineyards and offering the most spectacular scenic vistas of the Overberg.  Entry fee for the 50km will be R250 and R200 for the 30km while the 10km will set you back R50.

Participants can enter on line at and late entries will be received on Friday, 11 August between 16h00 and 19h30 at the Kalfiefees Tent next to the De Wet Hall in Onrus. For those that were caught napping, the morning of the event on 12 August from 06h00 prior to the start at 08h00 will be your last chance.
